The Lower Embankment of the Angara River is a vital part of the architectural complex of historical monuments in Irkutsk.

THE LOWER EMBANKMENT OF THE ANGARA RIVER
The monument to Emperor Alexander the 3-rd was laid on June 22, 1903 in honor of the completion of the Trans-Siberian Railway. It was placed in the middle of the Siberian section of the railroad on the Angara River bank in the city of Irkutsk opposite Bolshaya Street (K. Marx Street).
Demolished in 1920 on the basis of the decree "On the monuments of the Republic". Until 2003 a spire was installed on the place of the monument.
Today the monument to Alexander the 3-rd is an object of cultural heritage.
The object is located in one of the most beautiful places of Irkutsk - the embankment of the Angara River. It is a charming place, all green plants are everywhere, walkways and small cafes are ready to welcome new guests.

EMPEROR ALEXANDER III AND GAGARIN BOULEVARD
In an officially approved document, by Empress Catherine the Great of All Russia on October 26, 1790, the coat of arms of Irkutsk depicts a tiger with a sable in his teeth with the following description (literally): "In the silver field of the shield is a running tiger holding a sable in his mouth."
The district 130 (Irkutskaya Sloboda) is a specially organized zone of historical development in Irkutsk, includes several dozens of city's architectural and historical monuments.
The district is located in the southern part of the "Historical Center of Irkutsk" at the foot of the Hill pd Crosses in the Oktyabrsky District, it has the shape of a triangle.
The northwest corner stands at the intersection of several streets at once: Lenin, Sedov, Timiryazev, Red Uprising and 3rd July. The southwest corner of the district is intersected by 3rd July and Kozhova streets, and the southeast corner by Kozhova and Sedova streets.
